HISTORY

History

Before the Second World War Marcel Servaes has been working in the German metal industry.  In 1947 he uses his solid technical relations to open an office in Brussels (Belgium) to represent and commercialize in Belgium an Luxemburg the company HERBORN, world famous for its wire drawing machines.  The company 'Bureau Technique Marcel Servaes' is born! For 45 years an excellent client service and a growing product pallet have been its assets.

In 1961 at the beginning of the golden age for the metal industry Marcel engages his nephew, Jean-Pierre Servaes. Together they enlarge the company activities and improve even more the contact to the clients. That's the key to their success.

Since the beginning of the nineties a lot of mergers and acquisitions have been taking place in the European industry and the Belgian market decreases.  With a new generation eager to get started 'Bureau Technique Marcel Servaes, now BTMS, is ready to expand.  After a 3 year training at BTMS and a handful of contracts in his pocket, Pierre Servaes, the eldest son of Jean-Pierre starts up in 1996 the company Services et Equipements Industriels in Lille.  He focusses on the French an later also on the North African market.

When he is retiring Jean-Pierre decides to close down the office in Brussels and SEQUEM takes over the representation activities in Belgium and Luxemburg.  François and Marie Servaes, formerly working at BTMS, guarantee the continuation of the good service.
